Automatic Wake-Up Call

A big problem for drivers who have ever driven long distances over times when thier bodies might be asleep know how difficult it is to stay awake. I sometimes have to slap myself in the face to stay awake, however some people don't even have the state of mind to even realize they are in trouble and have succomed to bad accidents or even death.

That is where this device would come in to play. There has to be some kind of device which could be mounted in the steering wheel or in the dash assembly which could scan for open eyes a few times a second. If the eyes were not open for a second or more it could send a signal to the driver in many different ways. There are eye scanners that possible could be adapted to recognize position of the head and placement of the eyes and whether there is a reflective surface or not (eyelids). If driver turns his head momentarily the computer would recognize this and not false-alarm. Also the sensors should be able to distinguish between turned head and head pitched forward (as in asleep). Possible solutions to this crucial component, the ability for the sensor and programming to be able to distinguish, could be a "learning" mode where verbal commands could be given by the computer so the sensors could be adjusted and aligned to new driver.

The driver could choose from different methods of notification including Audible, Visual or vibration to the wheel or seat, or combinations of all the above. Potential adverse effect could be scareing or frightening the driver which is why the notification modes should be adjustable and completely modifiable.

The importance of this device is tremendous, and the need is great. Lives could be saved, maybe your own! JD

Better Automatic Flush

The infrared detectors, which only measure distance, are often innacurate. Since they only meaure distance, they can easily mistake any motion by the individual for leaving. They also seem to malfunction frequently, resulting in unnessary flushes. These flushes are not only wasteful, but extremely annoying to the individual using the toilet.

In order to be more efficient and more user friendly, a new sensor should replace the outdated infrared sensor. A good example might be a pressure sensor to ensure that the toilet is not in use before flushing.

Dual Arm Hard Disk

An extremely popular trend in high performance memory is the RAID array, or Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks.

For performance purposes, it shouldn't be cost efficient. Purchasing multiple disks to hold the same data couldn't be cost efficient. There should be a method of reusing the expensive disks piece that holds the data, and only adding extra read arms for extra read and write speed.

This project is intended to find the best method of relaying the information from the arms to the computer.

The concept behind this website is innovation. Like all innovations in their early stages, this website provides great benefits. However, not at the best efficiency.
To really test the concept, we want you to help us improve the website and concept.

Well, here is a mockup of the new website I made in Pages (word processor), what do you think, Evan? Yeah, the lightbulb logo is still a bit dodgy, but it's just there as an example.

Pistol Recoil Control

Problem: When a modern pistol is fired, the explosive force angles the pistol upward.

Solution: Add a second barrel to the bottom of the grip, which fires at the same time. This would put the force into a backward motion, rather than an upward angle-ing motion. This would enable the shooter to fire twice as many rounds at an even higher frequency because there is a reduced re-aiming delay. Basic Ideas for Implementation: A collapsible stock could fold up between the two barrels. Magazines almost have to protrude from both barrels. To increase portability, make holes in the stock large enough to fit the magazines for storage. For increased stability and durability, there could be a handle that connects the tip of each barrel. Detailed Ideas: I have a detailed blueprint of the trigger, hammer, and autocock mechanisms for the internal of the pistol, but they're a lot easier to draw than describe. The trigger has notches on one side to spin a rod which has a lever which releases the hammer, which is already cocked back. The notches in the trigger should not go all the way accross, to allow the rod to spin freely so the autocock (via recoil) can cock. The teeth on the gear should be angled so that they can be squeezed to spin the rod, but not released and spin the rod. To allow for the magazine, the slider must have a notch, which would be covered by a non reciprocating piece, similar to the piece that covers the ejection system.

Protection panties

As personal as it is, all girls know that when it's nearing... that time of the month, you're paranoid.
Every time you walk up the stairs, you're afraid that you leaked somehow without you knowing. You wear your sweater around your waist, just in case while walking to the bathroom, something happened when you were sitting down, etc.
Anyway, I think it would be extremely helpful if there were an underwear that you could wear, without you having to put in a pad everyday of the week that you are on the verge of getting it at any second.
This underwear would absorb. And I know you could say, "Just wear a diaper." But no. NO ok? It's different. It's different because it would look just like regular underwear, and it would come in all types (hipsters, briefs, bikini, etc.) AND it would be washable.
Meaning that you can get or not get your period while wearing them, come home, wash them, and then wear them again. Or when you DO get your period, just switch to pads or whatever. I think this would effectively provide a sense of security in the event of this occurring (which it often does.)
However, they wouldn't absorb non-stop. For a while, just like regular pads, but also just enough to let you feel a sense of security in case you do get it when you get up from your seat on the train, or while you're walking to school, etc.
That way you don't have to RUN to the nearest bathroom to put a ball of toilet paper in there.
You KNOW what I mean.

"But they just look like ordinary panties."
Exactly! =D

Help, comments, questions, or concerns greatly appreciated.
Also, it would help to know that this hasn't already been invented. And no diapers, pads, or anything like that. These are unique because you can't tell the difference between them and regular underwear besides that they're a little thicker in the crotch.

I'm assuming that they haven't been, for I have yet to see them in stores in the underwear section (and/or feminine products).

QWERTY II

The basic idea is to increase the number of states each key has. Normally a key just has an in (on) and out (off) state.

I would like to create a keyboard using keys that all have 4 states: in (middle), up, down, out (off)

SLIDING DOOR SECOND EDITION

THE CHILD SAFE SLIDING DOORS?

IMAGINE...

A sliding door designed so you could air out your house or even just feel the breeze...without the worry of having your baby fall onto the patio outside and ENDING UP LIKE THIS...

Well... If you took a sliding door and segmented it into two parts... a top and bottom sliding section... I'm thinking... You could slide open the top to get fresh air without your baby being destroyed.

Here's a crappy diagram D:

And that's that. <3.

PROMOTE A HEALTHY FUTURE.

Eventually with enough care and attention...

And the use of this invention!

The Real TV Tray

The idea of a TV tray is to be able to watch TV while you eat or do other things that require a table. This idea keeps the TV close, no matter where you are. It has the potential of making the TV easier to see, being a portable game setup, or a portable computer desk.

Water Armor

Soldiers sometimes have heavy solid steel plates for armor. There could be potential in using water or another hydraulic fluid to reduce weight.

Water does not compress (much), so the only challenge would be to keep it from deforming. This might be solved by adding compartments.
