New Promotional Video

The current promotional video is very old. It was one of the first 3D projects that I made with blender. It even uses the 1+ year old version of the logo.

I don't have any ideas currently. It could even be an overhaul of the current video.

As administrator, I can offer substantial points rewards for the assistance, as well as my gratitude.

New logo text

While the light bulb is the perfect symbol for NeoMenlo, the text feels unprofessional. The light bulb needs to be rotated so it looks more like a globe, but the text needs to be completely redone.

The dimensions are not too important.

Height should certainly be less than 100px tall, preferably under 75px.

Width can be just about anything. Keeping the width under 600px would be best, since some screens have low resolutions.

I would like scalable versions of whatever is made as well.

Ideas to consider:

The current logo has the light bulb over the "L". It would probably make sense to move it out to the far left of the text. This means that the "L" does not have to be a capitol "L".

As with other official NeoMenlo site related help tasks, there is potentially a large "points" reward from the unlimited administrative stash.

Home Page Image

Many website have a very simple homepage. A lot of them include some kind of image or even diagram that grabs attention and explains the purpose of the site.

I'm looking for a smaller image, less than 600px wide and less than 1000px tall. Both are negotiable.

Ideas:

I don't really have any ideas. Try to use obvious symbols to accompany text.

As with other official NeoMenlo site related help tasks, there is potentially a large "points" reward from the unlimited administrative stash.

Header Background

It would be nice to have something to put in the background of the top of the page. Currently it is a dark navy blue to navy gradient. The current one works fine, but a fancier one would be a nice bit of eye candy.

I'm thinking of a shiny dark blue 3D wallpaper that would somehow embrace the logo. It would be nice if it was a pattern (repeatable without seams), but it could also be a very wide (1600px) background.

3D files are a must. It is the only way I will know that it was made for this purpose, not taken off a random wallpaper site. I also may need to be able to edit it. So, I would like the file to be in a .blend file, but it can also be any other file readable by Blender (.3ds, .dae, ...)

Ideas:

This one may be very closely linked to the new logo text. The text could be rendered in a 3D environment, allowing reflections, shadows, and ambient occlusion to make it look more real and coherent.
