The Cost

Many invention help websites will require some kind of payment. Unlike other websites, we do not have any sort of fees or charges. Also, there are no requirements of you when your invention is complete. Many of the ways to get invention help will require you to pay a royalty fee, where you give them a percentage of the profits.

Possible Profit

Since you retain ownership of the invention, you can make a substantial amount of money. Unfortunately, this cannot be guaranteed.

There is a possibility that the idea will not get enough attention. You will likely get more help from others as you help others more.

There is also a possibility of theft, which is explained more thoroughly in the "Can My Ideas Be Stolen?" section.

Keep in mind that NeoMenlo is also designed to help those who do not have the resources for the inventing process.

Due to these risks, we advise that users whose main goal is to make money use another invention help method. The possibility of profit should be seen as an added benefit to the enjoyment of inventing and the betterment of the world.

Who it is for

NeoMenlo is designed to help those who do not have the, money, skills, knowledge, or other resources to invent with traditional methods.

There are no costs to use neomenlo, and no future payment requirements.

The community is designed to be a place where individuals exchange their skills, knowledge, and abilities. Theoretically, anyone can invent anything because they have a much wider array of resources at their disposal.

Theft

Theft is very possible. Our staff work very hard to ensure the community is safe from such activities, and any reports of such activities will be taken very seriously.

The only way any of the staff, moderators, or members will ever profit from the site, legally, is only if they create an original idea or invention, it is practical, and becomes successful.  We have to add 'legally' because theft is a very real possibility. (see 'legal')

NeoMenlo tracks, records, and backs up information, which will be used for legal action in order to protect our members from theft.

Our staff cannot protect NeoMenlo members alone. We would like our members to include as much information as possible in images submitted, and record information on their own computers.

Reasons for Help

Inventing requires too much creativity, knowledge, skills, and tools for most people to do alone.

At NeoMenlo, you do not need to be able to do everything yourself.

How it Works

First, you help others using your own unique skills, abilities, knowledge, and creativity. In the process, you are helping to keep a unique invention from going to waste, and teaching one or more people.

Then, you get help from others. You will gain knowledge, and learn about various skills. You also have the advantage of getting many opinions, and a wide variety of creativity and logics. Some members will draw up diagrams, blueprints, or even 3D models of your invention.

Finally, you are left with all the knowledge, blueprints, and reasoning to make your invention a reality. Some members may even use their resources to help with marketing.

How it is Free

The key is that the community of members exchange their own abilities with one another. This makes the inventing process easier because everyone will only have to use their own abilities, rather than have to do everything.
